Why did you choose to become a real estate agent?

My background was in the apparel industry. I was 28 and an assistant buyer for a women’s fashion catalog. I found myself inside all the time, and not happy with my career. My mom had her house on the market, and I went over for dinner. Her realtor was there. She was happy, social, and a lot like me. She convinced me to give it a try, and if I didn't like it, I could go back to my old career path...meanwhile 20 years later!

Why did you choose to become a real estate agent?

I have the freedom to work from anywhere. I can work from home, my car, the coffee shop, or even the beach or any place in the world. I can create my own schedule, so I spend more time with family and friends. No profession allows me the privilege to plan and choose how to manage my time better than Real Estate. There are laws to obey and rules to follow as a real estate agent, but there’s also plenty of room to run your business as you like.

New Restaurants in Delray Beach & Boca Raton

Although it might seem like an odd time to open a restaurant, several new spots have recently opened up in Delray Beach and Boca Raton. Here are some new spots to try out!

Hawkers Asian Street Fare is a great new addition to the Ave. because there is nothing else like it. (Let’s be honest, the Ave. definitely doesn’t need another Italian restaurant or ice cream shop). Inspired by the food centers and street fare of SE Asia, Hawkers serves up a variety of unique Asian small plates, noodles, rice dishes, and salads. Outdoor seating is available. Hawkers is located at 640 E Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach.

End of the Ave. is a casual new spot by the eastern end of Atlantic that serves hotdogs, tacos, and other snacks that can easily be transported

We’ve mentioned the weekly Delray Beach GreenMarket before—namely the fact that the market was open during the summer, something that the City of Delray Beach hoped would encourage year-round residents to mingle and enjoy the downtown area. But now that season is getting started, the real, true GreenMarket is back and it's bigger than ever. One of our favorite things to do on the weekends at Mizner Residential Realty has always been to check out this weekly local event, and now there are more reasons than ever for you to look into it, too. The Delray Beach GreenMarket opens on Saturday, October 26, 2019 for its 24th season.  The GreenMarket is situated at Old School Square Park on NE 2nd Avenue right in the heart of the downtown area. The winter

Although we already live in paradise here in South Florida, sometimes it’s nice to pack a bag and go somewhere to kick back and recharge. Luckily there are many incredible resorts just a short drive away, making it possible to take a staycation without having to travel far at all. Here are some of our favorite Palm Beach County resorts to escape for a staycation!

Sundy House in Delray Beach

Although it’s only located a few blocks from the Ave., Sundy House feels like you’re somewhere far from Delray. Built in 1902, the Victorian structure has an Old Florida feel, and outside you’ll find serene paths of turtle and fish-filled ponds, waterfalls, streams, gazebos, and the oldest documented Royal Poinciana tree in Palm Beach County, planted in 1919.

The_Wine_Room_Delray_Beach

A new wine bar recently opened in downtown Delray Beach. The Wine Room is located at 411 E. Atlantic Avenue, in the space that was formerly Caffe Martier. The owners have been renovating the space since the summer of 2018.  The Wine Room was originally set to open in September 2018 then rescheduled to August of 2019 due to unexpected construction issues.  The construction issues that were encountered delayed the grand opening by several months.  The space’s electrical system, floor, roof and air conditioning all had to be replaced.  Luckily for the residents and visitors of Delray Beach, the owners didn't give up on their vision and abandon the project.  It is evident that the the restoration of 411 E. Atlantic Ave. has truly been a labor of love and

First time and prospective home buyers are often very excited to purchase their first home, and it is my job to make them comfortable during the often stressful process. Here’s my advice for first time home buyers:

1. Know your finances.  How much do you want to spend per month on the property?  How much do you have in the bank for a down payment?  Do you know that you are going to need to have private mortgage insurance, which is going to make your monthly payment higher than if you put a larger down payment down?  Do you know that it costs money to borrow money?

If you want to buy a property for $200,000, and have $10,000 in the bank, just know that there are ways to ask for the seller to pay for your closing costs, that could add up to
