4th of July

Delray Beach is closing off the downtown to vehicular traffic for the Annual 4th of July festival.  East Atlantic Avenue will be shut down so parking west of the Intracoastal Bridge would be a sensible choice so you can leave when you are ready.  The downtown trolley will be in service to provide transportation to and from the Intracoastal Bridge.  The downtown Trolley is free for anyone in Delray Beach.  Please park west of the Intracoastal Bridge.  You can use the Downtown Trolley to get to the Intracoastal Bridge.  The streets will be closing at 1:30 PM for the event and will reopen at 11 PM.  The event is held on East Atlantic from the Intracoastal Bridge east to A1A from Thomas to Miramar.

As in past events there will be outdoor beer

Fresh produce

The Winter GreenMarket officially ended another successful season on May 18th, 2019.  The Winter GreenMarket featured 65 + premier farmers and artisans this past season.  Snowbirds, vacationers, and year round residents enjoyed farm-fresh produce, citrus, eggs, raw milk and butter as well as 100% grass-fed and finished Florida beef, poultry, pork and lamb.  We also enjoyed artisan baked goods and hand-made items all season long.  Going to the Winter GreenMarket which is just a half block north of Atlantic Avenue has become a Saturday morning tradition for many people.  The nostalgia of going to the open air marketplace to purchase your provisions for the week is reminiscent of bygone years.  The Winter GreenMarket is charming and many people will

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 107 which will allow stricter enforcement of laws regarding wireless communication while driving.  Texting while driving was already illegal in the state of Florida, however, it was very difficult for law enforcement officers to cite drivers for the offense.  The bill which was signed on May 17, 2019 changes texting while driving from a secondary offense to a primary offense and the law will take effect July 1, 2019.  The problem with the law as it was originally written was that police officers couldn't pull over drivers for secondary offenses unless they were committing a primary offense such as speeding, reckless driving, or driving while intoxicated.  As you might imagine, there were many drivers getting
