A wise person once said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Since breakfast is such an important part of everyone's day, knowing more about your dining options can help you choose a restaurant that pleases you.  Delray Beach has many breakfast dining options, probably many more than you might realize.  Whether you are a breakfast aficionado or not, you'll likely find yourself dining at a local breakfast joint sometime in the near future.  Why not make breakfast dining as enjoyable as you can?   

Gary Rack's Farmhouse Kitchen brunch menu is available Saturday and Sunday.  Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's are $14 during brunch.  At Farmhouse you will find that breakfast is prepared using only the finest ingredients providing healthy breakfast choices.  Great care is put into every dish at this eatery - even the maple syrup is warmed for the chicken + waffles entree.  Farmhouse Kitchen is located at 204 E Atlantic Ave.  Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM - 3 PM.        

Subculture Coffee Roasters, 20 West Atlantic Ave, has great artisan roasted coffee.  Join the coffee club if you want to enjoy Subculture Coffee at home or at your office.  You can have it delivered or have it ready to pick up.  Subculture Coffee Roasters offers smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, quiche, empanadas, house made granola, or your choice of Zak the Baker walnut cranberry or olive za'atar artisan bread with cream cheese.  The store is open Sunday through Thursday, 7 AM - 12 AM and Friday & Saturday, 7 AM - 2 AM.

The Cup of Good Artisan Coffee, 632 E Atlantic Ave,  The Cup of Good's purpose is to love and care for people in "at risk" situations. The Cup of Good Artisan Coffee partners with JARC Florida to employ individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the JARC's Community Works program.  The Cup of Good Artisan Coffee has fantastic specialty coffee drinks and healthy foods.  Breakfast is served all day.  Try a breakfast sandwich, Acai bowl, or avocado toast.  The Cup of Good is open from 7 AM - 4 PM Monday through Thursday and 7 AM - 5 PM Friday through Sunday.  Visit their Facebook page by clicking here to see all the good they do for our community.      

Try Colombian Coffee House when you feel like trying an exotic breakfast like Guacamole Arepa with a Cafe Con Leche.  Colombian Coffee House imports their coffee beans directly from Colombia, South America.  This is a great place to stop for a quick bite and a coffee, tea, or juice when you are in the downtown area.  Colombian Coffee House is located at 12 SE 5th Ave in the heart of downtown.  Breakfast is served all day.  Store hours vary from day to day.  Monday,Tuesday, and Wednesday the coffee shop is open from 7 AM - 8 PM.  Thursday and Friday it is open from 7 AM - 9 PM.  Saturdays from 8 AM - 9 PM and Sundays from 8 AM - 7 PM.  Click here to visit their Facebook page.   

3G's Gourmet Deli & Restaurant is a New York style deli located at 5869 W Atlantic Ave.  3G's serves breakfast Monday through Saturday, 8 AM - 11 AM and Sunday from 8 AM to 2 PM.  Click 3G's Breakfast Menu to see what 3G's offers for breakfast.  3G's also serves lunch and dinner.  It would be convenient to place your deli order for the week as you head over for breakfast then pick it up on your way out.  The deli is open from 8 AM to 8:30 PM daily.   

Penelope's Diner is a family owned neighborhood diner with great food and it's reasonably priced.  The breakfast menu is large and has some interesting choices such as Jamaican omelette and oatmeal raisin pancakes.  Outdoor dining is available and parking is a breeze because it's located in the Villages of Oriole Plaza on the NE corner of Atlantic Ave and Hagen Ranch Rd.  Penelope's is located at 7431 W Atlantic Ave and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 8 AM to 8 PM and Monday, 8 AM to 3 PM. 

Sande's Restaurant is another family owned business located in Delray Beach.  Sande's is an old school restaurant that oozes with southern hospitality.  Even the biscuits are homemade.  Sande's is open every day 6 AM until 2:45 PM.  Rumor is that the crunchy french toast at Sande's is amazing.  Monday through Friday breakfast special is available from 6 AM to 11 AM.  On the weekends, eggs benedict is served with a mimosa or juice.  Visit Sande's at 1717 N Federal Hwy and make sure you have cash on hand because, like I said, it's old school here.  Credit cards are not accepted.    

If you're looking for a little nostalgia - stop by Ellie's 50's Diner to experience a blast from the past.  Ellie's is  a 50's retro-style diner with great food, friendly service, and a warm atmosphere.  Ellie's uses quality products like Boar's Head bacon and Jimmy Dean sausage for their breakfast menu selections.  Click Ellie's 50's Diner Menu  to see  their complete menu.  Ellie's is located at 2410 N Federal and is open Sunday through Thursday from 8 AM - 9 PM and Friday and Saturday from 8 AM - 10 PM.

Bagels With is located at 1732 S Federal Hwy in Delray Beach.  Bagels With is a very busy and well operated bagel shop that offers muffins, egg sandwiches and breakfast platters including hand sliced nova and white fish salad platters.  Choose from five types of cream cheese.  This establishment gets jammed with a line out the door at times during peak hours but the food is so good it's worth the wait.  The staff is very efficient at Bagels With so the line moves very quickly.  Bagels With is open for breakfast and lunch 6:30 AM to 4 PM.  Soup, salad, burgers, hotdogs and deli sandwiches are available for lunch.  

An interesting fact about The Original Pancake House is that this American breakfast restaurant chain has eight locations in Japan and one in South Korea as well as locations in 27 U.S. states.  The founders, Les Highet and Erma Hueneke, collected recipes for the menu from housewives around the world.  The authentic recipes are prepared using only the finest ingredients like 93 grade butter, pure 36% whipping cream, fresh grade AA eggs, hard wheat unbleached flour, and sourdough yeast that is grown in the kitchen at every location.  One of The Original Pancake House' signature items is the Apple Pancake which is a large pancake smothered with sauteed apples and cinnamon sugar then baked to perfection creating a scrumptious cinnamon sugar glaze.  Dutch Baby is another signature item - it is an air filled delight.  The Dutch Baby is oven baked to golden perfection then served with lemon, whipped butter and powdered sugar.  Stop by The Original Pancake House at 1840 S Federal Hwy.  They are open from 7 AM - 2 PM Monday through Friday and 7 AM - 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Christina's is a bright and cheery restaurant that is sure to brighten your mood.  Christina's is located in the Pineapple Grove District at 263 NE 2nd Ave.  The plaza where Christina's is located has a parking lot making parking a breeze plus outdoor dining is available.  Click Christina's menu to see the various Fresh Gourmet Omelets, Wonderful Salads, and Sandwiches.  If you love omelettes - give the California omelette a try.  Christina's is open daily from 8 AM - 3 PM. 

The New Vegan located at 528 NE 2nd Street offers a 100% vegan menu, including dairy free, soy free, wheat & gluten free, and GMO free food.  The New Vegan doesn't cut corners for those seeking both tasty and healthy food vegan choices.  Check out The New Vegan Menu to see the complete menu or try a Smoothie, Cinnamon French Toast or Belgium Waffles to satisfy your breakfast cravings.  The New Vegan is open on Mondays from 11 AM - 7 PM and closed on Tuesdays.  Restaurant hours for the rest of the week are 10 AM - 3:30 PM and 5:30 - 9:30 PM.

The French Bakery bakes handcrafted traditional French breads and pastries throughout the day. Poppies is another New York deli style restaurant that serves Jewish comfort food.  The namesake, Poppies, is a nod to all of the Poppies who have touched our lives keeping these traditions alive.  Poppies is located at 4900 Linton Blvd and is open from 7 AM - 8 PM daily.  Poppies serves generous portions using locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible.  The breakfast special is only available from Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 11 AM.  The breakfast special is two jumbo eggs - any style - with home fries, grits or oatmeal, choice of mini muffin, bagel, bialy or toast plus coffee or fountain beverage.  See the extensive breakfast and lunch menu by clicking Poppies Menu.

Stop by the Sandwich Man and Pizza Too for breakfast.  If you're looking for something yummy for your tummy, try the bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll with salt, pepper, ketchup and hot sauce.  Breakfast is served from 7 AM - 10:45 AM. If you're feeling nostalgic, head over to Foxworth Fountain for breakfast.  Foxworth Fountain is an old-fashioned soda fountain counter in Delray Shores Pharmacy.  The vintage soda fountain is located in the Flossy B. Building at 124 NE 5th Ave. The Foxworth Fountain is closed on Monday.  Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 8 AM to 6 PM, Thursday through Saturday 8 AM to 9 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM.  Check out Foxworth's Menu here and don't miss the Adulting section which is only served to those 21 and over.  CBD and Craft Beer Shakes are available as well as wine, brews and bubbles.  

The Green Owl is a downtown Delray Beach fixture.  The Green Owl was originally located on Atlantic Avenue where the Capital One Cafe is now.  After thirty-three years at the same location, the Green Owl relocated to 11 SE 4th Ave.  The Green Owl was founded in 1981 making the breakfast and lunch joint the oldest continually-operating restaurant in downtown.  The Green Owl is closed on Monday.  Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday 7 AM to 2 PM and Sunday 8 AM to 1 PM.  Know before you go, The Green Owl is a cash only establishment.  If you forget, there are several banks with ATM's that are walking distance.    

R-Cafe at Rise31 in Delray Marketplace opens early and closes late so it's a great place to grab a craft coffee, smoothie, organic cold pressed juice or a healthy breakfast.  You can't go wrong here - everything on the menu is healthy and nutritious.  Click R-Cafe Menu to see all of the health conscious choices.  Rise31 fitness studio and R-Cafe have separate entrances making the cafe accessible to the general public.  Visit R-Cafe at 14859 Lyons Rd.  R-Cafe is a great way to fuel your body before a fitness class or start your day off on the right foot.
