There's a reason that Fort Lauderdale has been dubbed as the Yachting Capital of the World.  The 60th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is just around the corner.  This years event is Wednesday, October 30th through Sunday November 3rd.  There will be over 1,500 boats on display and 1,200 exhibitors with more than 110,000 visitors from around the globe expected.  This years event debuts SuperYacht Village which is the events seventh location.  SuperYacht Village will debut as the crown jewel displaying the most spectacular yachts in the show.  SuperYacht Village will also feature yacht toys like helicopters, personal submarines, waverunners, and exotic automobiles.  SuperYacht Village will be open to all general admission ticket holders.  With the addition of SuperYacht Village, there is now 3 million sq ft of exhibition space including 6 miles of floating docks.  Tickets start at $34 for one day and $59 for a two day pass.  Children 6-15 years old are $15 and kids, 5 and younger, are free.  Please leave your pets at home.

The main location is at Bahia Mar Yachting Center located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd.  Additional locations are Hall of Fame Marina, Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center/Sailfish Pavilion, The Sails Marina, Las Olas Marina, SuperYacht Village at Pier South, and Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina.  The shows hours are Wednesday from 12 PM - 7 PM; Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 10 AM - 7 PM and Sunday 10 AM - 6 PM.

There are 19 parking garages available in the surrounding areas of the boat show that offer parking and free shuttle service to Riverside Hotel Water Taxi docks is included.  Many of the garages are concentrated near the Riverside Hotel Water Taxi Docks at 600 SE 4th Street - just look for the boat show parking signs to find one.  This year is the first time that valet parking is available at the show.  Valet parking is offered at the Main Entrance to the show at SE 5th Street and Seabreeze near DC Alexander Park across the street from International Swimming Hall of Fame.  Valet parking is $65.00 when you buy online before September 1st and $75.00 after that.    Once you have parked, navigating the boat show by water taxi is very convenient and efficient because the water taxi stops at all of the show sites and you do not have to deal with the traffic all day.  The Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi is $12 for the day or you can buy a five day ticket for $60.

The boat show is so large that you really have to do some homework ahead of time so that you hit everything that you want to see and do.  To enhance your experience, you may considering purchasing the Windward VIP Experience so you can attend Cigar Roller, Wine Tasting and Vodka Tasting events.  Kids Fishing Clinic by Hook the Future is great for kids 4-16 years old - the clinics are held on Saturday and Sunday only.  The 2nd Annual Sunset Soiree & Yacht Chef Competition in the center of SuperYacht Village is perfect for all you foodies out there.  Guests will enjoy tasting the delicious cuisine prepared by four Yacht Chefs including premium craft cocktails.  A panel of judges will select the winner which will walk away with prizes (chef and vessel) and the esteemed title of Best Yacht Chef of the 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.  You will want to buy your ticket early for this event.  The Blue Wild Watersports and Marine Art Expo is located in the Broward County Convention Center.  Attend seminars about various water sports like free-diving, spearfishing, stand-up paddle boarding and underwater photography or check out the marine art display room which will display an extensive collection of artwork and photography ranging from serious to whimsical and everything in between.  Bon Voyage!
