Getting in the Holiday Spirit at the Beach

Free or Cheap Holiday Festivities in Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach - a guide to tree lightings, street parades, boat parades and more!

November 23rd, 2019 - The City of Boca Raton and Mizner Park team up for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.  This years event is Saturday, November 23rd from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  The ceremony is held at Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real.  There will be free carnival rides, an artificial ice rink, holiday bounce houses, Santa's Circus Variety Show, Carolers, stilt walkers, aerial performances, letter to Santa station, and photos with Santa ($5/photo).  Carnival food will be available for purchase.  The city's Holiday Tree Lighting illuminates simultaneously with Mizner Park's tree which can be seen at the south end of the center close to Lord & Taylor.  A fireworks display at the amphitheater will conclude the evenings festivities. 

December 5th, 2019 - The 26th annual Delray Beach Christmas Tree Lighting is Thursday, December 5th at 5 pm at Old School Square Park on NE 2nd Avenue.  The holiday street fair on E Atlantic from N Swinton Ave to 5th Ave will have food, music, entertainment, crafts, and holiday surprises.  Walk through the 100 ft Christmas Tree to see scenes of a Reindeer Barn, Santa's Workshop, 'Twas the Night before Christmas House and the Train House.  Santa will be arriving at 6:45 pm just in time for the tree lighting at 7 pm. 

December 7th, 2019 - Get into the holiday spirit with music - young, local performers open this evenings festivities followed by special guest performances including headliner Gloria Gaynor.  The 4th annual Carols by Candlelight at Old School Square Pavilion, will be held at 51 N Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach on Saturday, December 7th at 7:30 pm.  This event is tented and food vendors will also be set up on the premises.  General Admission is $20.  Purchase tickets at  Old School Square

December 7th, 2019 - Experience the holiday magic at the 49th annual Holiday Parade & Light up the Park in Boynton Beach on Saturday, December 7th at 4 pm.  The parade kicks off the day's event and will feature floats, dance teams, marching bands, unicycles and much more.  The parade route is along Federal Highway beginning at NE 6th Avenue and ending at NE 1st Avenue.  Stick around for more fun in Dewey Park as the Banyan Trees are lit up with a sparkling light display from 6 pm to 8 pm.  The festivities include live music, libations and light bites, and children's activities.  A visit from Santa Claus will delight the kids and the kids at heart.

December 11th, 2019 - The City of Boca Raton is celebrating their 49th Holiday Street Parade and it includes more than 70 floats and groups to entertain bystanders along the parade route.  This years parade theme is "Light up Boca".  The parade is Wednesday, December 11th and begins at 7:30 pm.  The parade route starts at Federal Hwy and SE 5th Street traveling north to Mizner Park Amphitheater.  

December 13th, 2019 - The 48th annual Holiday Boat Parade in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach is Friday, December 13th at 6:30 pm.  Decorated boats will line up at the Lantana Bridge near Old Key Lime House and motor south starting at 6:30 pm all the way down the intracoastal waterway to the C-15 canal in Delray.  Look out points in Boynton Beach include Boynton Harbor Marina, Intracoastal Park, Jaycee Park, Mangrove Park and in Delray from Veterans Park and Knowles Park.  Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. If you are having a Boat Parade Party on your dock - encourage your guests to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the party.  Sea Tow and the United States Marines will be traveling alongside the boat parade to make dockside pickups - just wave a flashlight and Sea Tow will pull up to your dock to collect your toy donations.   

December 14th, 2019 - Delray Beach is having their Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 14th at 6 pm.  The parade theme is "Seas & Greetings" and there are more than 70 entries in the parade this year.  The parade will begin at the intracoastal bridge on Atlantic Ave and heads west toward NW 5th Avenue  The Delray Beach Fire Department has agreed to provide transportation for Santa as he wishes all of the onlookers a Merry Christmas. 

December 15th, 2019 - Holiday Boat Parades are just about as festive as can be.  If the boat parade in Delray/Boynton left you wanting more - this is your opportunity.  The 43rd Annual Boca Raton Holiday Boat Parade is the perfect way to experience the Holiday season!  Enjoy the parade, food, and drinks from Red Reef Park (west), the Wildflower Property, or Silver Palm Park viewing areas. The boat parade is Sunday, December 15th at 6:30 pm and it starts at Delray Beach/Boca Raton city limit at C-15 canal and travels south to Hillsboro Bridge.

December 20th and 23rd, 2019 - Putt'n Around is hosting Story Time with Santa & Mrs. Claus.  Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer will be read on Friday, December 20th at 3 pm and The Night Before Christmas will be read on Monday, December 23rd at 11 am.  Tickets are $10 each and include Story Time, Mrs. Claus' Christmas cookies, and a round of 18 holes at Putt'n Around located at 350 NE 5th Avenue in Delray Beach.  

The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year.  It's also a very busy time so take a step back and find wonder in the season.  What better way to find wonder in the season than spending quality time with your loved ones at one or more of these events?  Find your own joy in the reason for the season!
