The Best Restaurants Near Linton & Federal

In case you haven't noticed, Delray Beach is on fire right now.  The Village by the Sea is rapidly changing and the expansion is expected to continue throughout the decade.  In the downtown area, 2019 welcomed a new iPic Theater, The Wine Room Kitchen and Bar, and two new hotels - Aloft and Courtyard by Marriott.  Delray Marketplace, a food hall, and another hotel, The Ray, are currently under construction.  Atlantic Crossing which covers two city blocks on Atlantic Ave and Federal Hwy near the Intracoastal Waterway is under construction as well.  Atlantic Crossing is a mixed-use complex which includes office and retail space, for-sale condominiums and rental apartments.   The expansion boom in Delray isn't limited to just the downtown area.  The Linton Ave and Federal Hwy corridor is another hot spot where there are many restaurants concentrated in a small area.  The variety of restaurants is sure to please everyone's taste buds.  In a nutshell, the rundown includes restaurants that specialize in chicken, vegans, bbq, healthy choice, farm-to-table, burgers, juice, bagels, Thai and Mexican cuisine.    

For chicken - Try Flybird located at 335 E Linton Blvd.  Flybird is open Monday - Saturday, 11:30 am-8:30 pm and Sunday, 3 pm-7:30 pm.  Flybird is celebrity chef Michael Salmon's creation.  Michael Salmon was a finalist on The Next Food Network Star and 24 Hour Restaurant Challenge.  At Flybird - it's all about the chicken.  The all natural Chicken is dry-brined for 24 hours and chargrilled to perfection on a custom wood-fired and mesquite charcoal grill.  The chicken is served with grilled lemon, roasted garlic, grilled flatbread and cilantro sauce.  Sides include crunchy coleslaw, creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, salad, chargrilled seasonal vegetables, roasted beets with lemon & dill, green beans with garlic, chili & soy, roasted wild mushrooms & herbs, baked mac & cheese.  Flybird is a scratch kitchen. 
For Vegans - You'll want to try Veg Eats Foods located at 335 E Linton Blvd.  Veg Eats Foods is open Monday - Friday, 11 am-5 pm and Saturday from 11 am-4 pm.  This family owned and operated restaurant serves plant-based vegan comfort food prepared with locally sourced ingredients in their natural form.  Pea protein is the main protein that is used in many dishes.  Try a vizza (vegan pizza) or the customer favorite - smothered mushroom burger.  Veg Eats Foods is passionate about serving hearty and nourishing meals made from whole ingredients to feed the mind, body and soul.  The dishes are prepared from scratch daily.        
For BBQ - If you feel like eating high on the hog you won;t want to miss Holy Hog Barbecue located at 420 E Linton Ave. Holy Hog Barbecue is open Sunday - Thursday from 11:00 am - 9:00 pm and Friday & Saturday from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm.  You'll want to try their award-winning burnt ends, brisket, St. Louis pork ribs and of course, their jalapeno mac 'n cheese.  Holy Hog Barbecue even has fried okra on the menu - talk about .  Try the BBQ Lunch Box for $7.99 - available from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm for a limited time.  
For a healthy choice - localgreens, 1841 S Federal Hwy is open every day from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm  Live green and live well with a salad or wrap , grain, noodle or rice bowls, smoothies, juices, wheatgrass shots and house-made popsicles.  Only smoothies and powerbowls are available when the restaurant opens at 9:00 am.  You can order off the full menu starting at 11:00 am.  localgreens uses only locally-sourced and organic ingredients.  Live green and live well.   
For farm-to-table - Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar located at 1841 S Federal Hwy features local farm-to-table dishes in an upscale casual atmosphere.  Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 11:00 am - 10:00 pm, Friday & Saturday, 11:00 am - 11:00 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm.  Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar serves sustainable, health conscious and locally-sourced cuisine.  The menu changes seasonally so there is always something new to try.   Harvest works with 75 local farmers and is committed to using local, all-natural ingredients in everything they make.  There are quite a few plant-based and vegetarian options.  Harvest is recognized by OpenTable Diners' Choice as one of the best local restaurants.  
For burgers - The Habit Burger Grill located at 1831 S Federal Hwy is open Monday - Friday, 10:30 am - 10:00 pm and Sunday 10:30 am - 9 pm.  The Habit Burger Grill has charburgers, signature  sandwiches, and fresh salads.  All of the burgers are made with 100% fresh ground beef and chargrilled over an open flame.  The Tempura Jalapeno Charburger is the newest burger addition to the menu.  The tempura green beans sound yummy.
For juice - try Planet Juice located at 1724 S Federal Hwy.  Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday & Sunday from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.  Planet Juice is a California style juice bar that offers 25 different whole fruit smoothies and power juices.  In addition to smoothies and power juice, Planet Juice offers healthy wraps, brown rice burritos, salads, and snacks.  Get 8 punches on your juice card and get your next drink free.  
For bagels - Bagels With Deli at 1732 S Federal Hwy is the place to go.  Bagels With Deli is open for breakfast and lunch - 6:30 am - 4:00 pm.  Bagels With Deli offers sixteen different bagels and countless flavored cream cheeses.  You can also order egg sandwiches, breakfast platters, pancakes, french toast and parfaits.  For lunch there are wraps, salad bowls, chopped salads, deli sandwiches, paninis and soup, poke & power bowls and burgers. House-made salads, spreads, cheeses, deli items and smoked fish can be purchased by the pound at Market Place which is behind the deli counter.   
For Thai - Eathai  is a great choice for authentic Thai cuisine.  Eathai is located at 1832 S Federal Hwy and is open Sunday - Thursday from 11:30 am - 10:30 pm and Friday - Saturday, 11:30 am - 11:30 pm.  Traditional Thai dishes include Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, and Grilled Lamb Satay.  Eathai won best wings for their Thai Chicken Wings in the Florida Wing Battle.  Wings can be ordered with your choice of Garlic Fish Sauce, Chili Honey Sauce or Yum Yum dry rub.  For dessert, you can order I*CE*NY ice cream and they will make it right in front of you - it only takes two minutes.  
For Mexican - Head over to Zona Fresca located at 1705 S Federal Hwy.  Delray Beach hours are Saturday - Thursday, 11:00 am - 9:00 am and Friday, 11:00 am - 10:00 pm.  Zona Fresca makes great Mexican food fresh daily using all natural ingredients.  Zona Fresca's motto is "Not your everyday Mexican food, but Mexican food you can eat every day" because their food is fresh, light, and can be consumed every day.  Homemade Ceviche is available on Fridays and a variety of other authentic dishes such as burritos, tacos, street tacos, quesadillas, chili rellenos, salads & soups are available everyday.  Grilled boneless, skinless chicken breasts and lean steaks are always made to order.  Guacamole and salsa are made from scratch using only the best produce.
There are plenty of restaurants in the Linton and Federal corridor - some have been around a while and others are newer so you may not have had a chance to try them yet.  New restaurants continue to pop up in that corridor and the area is becoming a trendy hot spot for foodies.
