Miami Spice is in full swing from now until September 30th, 2019 and it showcases the very best restaurants of Greater Miami and the Beaches'. As the saying goes, there's no time like the present so take a little time to research and plan your attack to conquer your Miami Spice "to do" list. Many people wait all year for Miami Spice to roll around so they can enjoy fantastic restaurants and their special Miami Spice menu offerings at substantial savings. This year, there are 261 participating restaurants giving you plenty of options to explore cuisines that you may not have tried before or dine at an upscale restaurant at a reduced price. In South Beach alone, there are 65 participating restaurants. The participating restaurants offer prix-fixe menus for three-course lunches and brunches for $23, and multi-course dinners for $39. Beverage, tax and gratuity are not included. At most restaurants, the prix-fixe menu is generally 35 to 40 percent or more off regular menu pricing.
The Miami Spice program was initially designed to attract tourists to the Miami area during the summer months, however, the eateries have discovered that it is also a great way to get locals out during the hottest part of the year. Miami Spice is a great enticement for many to enjoy a white-tablecloth service dining experience that they might not otherwise partake. Why not? It's too hot to cook and the price is right.
To help you compile your Miami Spice "to do" list, the greater Miami and Beaches' area is divided into twenty-three distinct neighborhoods. The neighborhoods include Aventura, Bal Harbour, Coconut Grove, Little Havana, Little Haiti, Coral Gables, Doral, Downtown, Brickell, Wynwood, Sunny Isles Beach, Miami Beach and many other neighborhoods. Whether you are looking for a restaurant on swanky Lincoln Road in South Beach or a more laid back ocean front restaurant in one of the surrounding beach side communities, such as Sunny Isles Beach or Bal Harbour, you are sure to find the perfect dining establishment for a memorable meal.
Many of the participating restaurants have additional promotions going on during Miami Spice. If you stay at the Fontainebleau during Spice, you will enjoy a complimentary Miami Spice dinner at participating Fontainebleau restaurants every night that you stay from August 15th through September 30th. Participating Fontainebleau restaurants are Scarpetta by Scott Conant - a James Beard award recipient, AAA Four Diamond award-winners Hakkasan or StripSteak by Michael Mina. Atlantikos in The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort will change their menu for the second month of Miami Spice. Red, the Steakhouse, has a different themed menu every week during Miami Spice. Headphones are available for your air traffic ground control listening pleasure or entertain yourself watching cargo trains zooming to and fro the planes to load or unload. Don't fret if you are looking for a very specific type of cuisine or a restaurant in a particular neighborhood. It's really difficult to choose which Miami Spice restaurant to visit because so many of them have exceptional menus for the annual event.
