The recent quarantine has many people asking for bigger yards that are a quarter acre or larger. There is a limited amount of properties in Delray Beach with yards this big, as land values have appreciated substantially in the last 10 years. Most newer build communities have smaller lots- many even zero lot line- even with price points in the million-dollar range. 

Real estate buyers and investors are speculating the future values and buying lots in East Delray with homes built in the 1950s and 60s. Ultimately these homes are torn down to build new structures, although some owners keep the existing structure and rent them out to gain income while land values appreciate.

It seems like most of the homes in South Florida are in HOA communities, even so, there are still many people that seek out a new home that is not. The reasons that people want homes in non-HOA communities are many. We’ve been sheltering-in-place for several weeks now, and it’s important to remind ourselves of all the positives. We have more time to spend with our families, we’re able to connect virtually with friends, colleagues, and distant relatives, and we can support local businesses that need us now more than ever. Excitement is already in the air for the next Delray Affair, the biggest street party in Delray Beach. This years event marks the 58th year for the largest arts & crafts festival in the southeast United States.  Save the dates on your calendar - the rescheduled dates are Saturday, October 16th & Sunday, October 17th.  More information to follow.  Admission to Delray Affair is free and parking is available at the Delray Beach City Hall parking lot and both city parking garages for $5.  You can visit the exciting street party
